Zoom Login Steps and Etiquette

Zoom Helpful Tips

Zoom is a platform used to host video conferences.  It’s easy and fun to use. We hope you join your class on their weekly calls.
  • You can ZOOM on any computer, ipad, tablet, or phone. Anything that has a web browser like Google Chrome, Explorer, etc.
  • All you need to do is click on the "Join Meeting" link and Zoom will pop up automatically in your web browser.
  • You do not have to, but you can also download the Zoom app if you would prefer to use it within the app (the Zoom app icon is a blue video camera).
If you use the app on your device, then you will just need the meeting ID #  and meeting password  #

Here are some additional sign on steps:
1. Click on "Join Meeting"
2. Click to allow Zoom to use video and audio; this way we can all see and hear each other
3. If you are on a phone or ipad, swipe the screen to the right to view more than one person speaking at a time
4. If you are on a chromebook or computer, there is a gallery view (usually in the top right corner) that allows you to see everyone on the call

Zoom Etiquette
  • Please stay in one spot. When you move around it gets very distracting to other viewers.
  • Be aware of the noise behind you. Click mute in the bottom left corner of you screen if there is background noise that may distract others. (siblings, pets, etc)
  • Speak clearly and look directly at your screen when it is your turn to talk.
  • Set your video so we can see your whole face.
  • Be respectful listeners.
